Ready to take your vocal performances to the next level? This intensive, week-long workshop develops skills such as character-building, script analysis, and stage movement, making it the perfect training program for the stage!

Marin Music Lyric Theater's Summer Scenes Program (SSP) is a five-day performance-focused musical theater workshop for young singers ages 13 to 19, culminating in a Saturday afternoon performance.

During the workshop, each singer will work on at least one solo and at least one scene. Selections will be tailored to each performer's strengths, and materials will be provided in May. Due to the short length of the program, students are expected to be completely off-book from the first day of the program.

In addition to working with active performers and accompanists to build layered, nuanced, and resilient performances, singers will receive instruction on vocal production, articulation, and expression; acting techniques and concepts; the creation and communication of believable characters; textual and musical analysis; creative stage movement, and bodily awareness in performance.

The skills and experiences presented in the Summer Scenes Program are designed to give students the ability to be successful when performing in high school productions, competitive when auditioning for or participating in collegiate programs, and to provide a foundation for a lifetime of musical theater performance.
